Eastern White Pine

It is easily controlled, and is good for small properties as well as field plantings. The Eastern White Pine, Pinus Strobus, is a beautiful landscape pine widely used throughout much of North America. The White Pine tree is long-lived and vigorous. apart for screening purposes. It grows rapidly for a pine tree and is pyramidal shaped when young, becoming umbrella-shaped with age. It grows best in full sun or partial shade and in ordinary soil. Space 6 ft. It carries long, soft bluish green needles with large brown cones. Also widely used for Christmas trees and timber. The White Pine takes six to eight years to produce a six-foot tree on good sites. Eastern White Pine trees are widely used as a screen or windbreak. It can tolerate wet, swampy areas. Flame Willow The Flame willow is very hardy and responds well to pruning. They grow fast and can be planted as privacy screens where the fall color will be fabulous!. It grows multistemmed, more like a shrub, unless trained otherwise. Plant these as specimens or in a line along a border. The Flame Willow, 'Salix Willow', gets it's name from the stems that turn red in late fall and lasts until early spring.
